The Friend of the Summit Public Library District are a group of people who believe that the library is an essential part of the community, and are working towards helping it become everything that it has the potential to be.
Friends help the library in many ways. They volunteer their time doing tasks that save staff time and money. They organize and participate in fundraising ventures, including book sales, bake sales, and others. They have recently helped to organize the local history collection, and trying to raise money so that the collection can be digitized and indexed, and made freely available to the public without fear of damage or deterioration. They are involved in spreading the word in the community about the library and the services it offers. They network with their friends. They have a good time.
Becoming a Friend is easy. Simply stop by the library and say "I want to be a Friend". Annual dues are $2.00. |
