Dear Community Members,
The Summit Public Library District takes the health and well-being of our community and staff very seriously. Therefore, the library will be closed starting Monday, March 16, with the goal of re-opening when shelter in place orders are lifted . This timeline is subject to change based on the latest health information. Our closure follows Governor Pritzker’s declaration that all schools shut-down until the end of the month. By preventing groups of people gathering together, we can slow-down the spread of the virus.
We will stop charging overdue fines, waive existing overdue fines, and extend the due dates on all checked-out materials.
You may continue to use our online resources by downloading ebooks on Axis 360; listening to downloadable audiobooks; and using Mango languages. Please click HERE for more information on online resources. Stay connected to the Summit Public Library through our website and check back often for updates. Be safe, and we look forward to seeing you back at the Library very soon.

IMPORTANT AARP TAX UPDATE
AARP Tax Aide service will not resume this year. We apologize for any inconvenience. Taxpayers who have access to a computer can go to: www.aarpfoundation.org/taxhelp. There they will be provided with 2 options to self-prepare free federal and state returns: 1) Turbo Tax and 2) OnLine Taxes. Both of these options have restrictions as to the amount of Adjusted Gross Income (AGI) to qualify for the free service. The Turbo Tax option is $36,000 or less of AGI or be eligible for the Earned Income Tax Credit. The OnLine Tax option is AGI between $14,000 and $69,000 to be eligible.
